Harper's Copy Center Plus was a small mom and pop shop that serviced local businesses and community organizations with low cost, fast turnaround, print and copy services. The market was saturated with larger franchises that didn’t offer the kind of personalized service that the client did. The owner requested an identity that communicated the company’s warm and personable approach without looking too corporate.
From the onset, I wanted to use the "H" as a pictorial mark and finally settled on a copy machine, but it didn’t work too well in only two dimensions. Once I redesigned it in 3D, the logo sprung to life and created the feel we were looking for. The color palette was chosen for its quirky, unconventionality and stood out amongst the brands of local competitors.
